Why a Blog and About Me
Why I started this blog and a little bit about me...
The main reason I started this blog was because I wanted to
share my healthy passions with like-minded people who find inspiration and joy
in the same things I do. I would love to connect with others who have shared
interests, test out new tasty recipes, and simply share my experiences in life and
love. Real Love. I am madly in love with a great man who I couldn't imagine my
life without. I never realized you could actually find so much pleasure in
taking care of someone. Not only is he very easy on the eyes, but he is extremely patient and understanding; therefore he is the yin to my anxious and impatient yang.We have been together for a little over two years and seem to be truly made for one another. Basically he really does complete me and I wish I had found him sooner.
Real food. I am currently a Nutritionist for a company that works with child development in Northern
California. There I create seasonal menu cycles, do cooking activities with the
children, hold nutrition education with the parents and families, as well as ensure that sites follow food program regulations, etc. Prior to my start with this company I gained experience with
infant/toddler feeding and breastfeeding and have a true passion for working
with mothers, families, and their little ones.
I graduated from California State University, Sacramento in
2011 with my BA in Nutrition and Food and minor in Deaf Studies.
Originally a Kinesiology major I have always been interested in nutrition and
health as I was an athlete growing up. I played almost any sport I
could including: basketball, soccer, volleyball, cross country, and track and field. After I graduated I knew I wanted to receive more education in the breastfeeding realm so I became a Certified Lactation Educator- Counselor through a University California, San Diego program.
My efforts in
nutrition are geared towards eating real, whole, unprocessed food as much as
possible. There is just something about how much better you feel when you eat
healthy that I can’t escape. Eating seasonal as well as whole is also important to me and plays a large role in how we feel overall. So there's just a snippet about me and my background and I look forward to getting to know you as well throughout this journey.
