Get Movin'

To observe National Physical Fitness and Sports month in May I made a goal for myself. I typically workout about 4-6 times a week but I actually wanted to track my workouts and physical activities to see how many total sessions I could accomplish.

My goal was to participate in some sort of physical activity or workout 20 times in the month of May. I made sure multiple other people in my life knew about my goal so it would hold me accountable and so they would know if I didn't complete it. Accountability often helps you attain your desire result; teaming up with a partner or co-worker may help you accomplish your goal as well. This was a big deal for me because for about a month and a half prior I was struggling to keep moving due to a toe injury. I know that may sound silly, but you would be surprised how tender and painful an injured toe can be. Overall, I'm elated I accomplished my goal and it helped me get back into the swing of things!

I'm so happy that I completed my goal and it makes me want to set more physical activity goals in the future. Even starting out with something small like taking a walk a certain number of times a week will help reduce your time spent sedentary; which is generally an excessive amount of time for many people. Urging yourself to get moving can increase confidence and overall health due to the hormones that are released when we get our bodies up and mobile.

I challenge you to make a goal and hold yourself accountable. I can testify that it will be truly rewarding in the end! Time to think up my next goal...
